Chunky Banana Bran Muffins

Indulge me for a few lines. I’m hating on those skinny bakers. Just a bit. Going on and on about how they love to bake, blah, blah, blah, and yet look at them! Not a glidegear breath over size 4—hell, make it a tall size 6 if we’re really pushing it and making them diamond microdermabrasion machines “plump”—and long and frozen yogurt machines lean. Hateful! In the bowl of an electric mixer attached with the paddle accessory, cream the butter and sugar for about 4 minutes, until light and fluffy. With the mixer on low, add the eggs, one at a time. Scrape the bowl and then add the molasses, orange zest, and vanilla. At this point, the mixture will look curdled. Add the bran/buttermilk mixture and combine well. In another bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together.
